Let’s have fun dressing up at Escape Games Canada! In part 1 we went over The Ark, The Missing Will, and Pathogen, and what costumes work best for the theming of those missions. Now, in part 2, we’ll go over the rest of our seven games, so let’s get into it!
Crossroads
Crossroads is set in a subway station in the 1940s, where you and your team are film noir detectives tracking down a serial killer before he kills once again at the stroke of midnight. Come in your best film noir regalia where you will be navigating your way through a grungy abandoned subway, and don’t mind the rats or flickering lights. Solve this crime, detectives, and save the next victim!
The Haunting of Noriko
You’ve watched horror movies set in a cabin in the woods, but have you ever had to live it? Step into a ryokan in the middle of the suicide forest in Okinawa, Japan. Put to rest the vengeful spirit of a young girl brutally murdered here many years ago. Let the family who owned the ryokan rest in peace at last–the catch? Just don’t join them yourself. For this room, take a bit of artistic license with your costumes–the best group we’ve seen tackle this room were the ghostbusters, but maybe you’re the stars of Buzzfeed Unsolved, instead.
The Last Resort
Modeled after slasher movies, the Last Resort takes place in an innocuous motel at the edge of the middle-of-nowhere. Your car breaks down and you and your friends pile out into the motel to stay the night–and maybe your last night. Think 70s or 80s slasher flick, where if you’re not careful–and clever–you might become the victim of another youtube unsolved murder list.
Mindshaft
Having fun dressing up at Escape Games Canada yet? Well, here’s our last mission: Mindshaft. You and your team are fantasy adventurers setting forth to defeat a great demon that has been terrorizing the land. The demon’s lair, deep in a mine, has several trials for you to tackle before you are deemed worthy to fight the demon himself. Bring your paladin, your rogue, and your wizard, and be ready for challenges of wit and athletics before you have the opportunity to save the land of its imprisonment to terror.
So here are the general vibes of our missions, and what to expect from them. Hopefully this helps to inform and encourage you if you were looking to come play a room in costume and on theme. We’re happy to have any kind of enthusiasm from groups playing our rooms and love the ideas that people come up with (we’ll never forget the ghostbusters in the Haunting of Noriko).
