Toronto is a hub of activity year round; it is a city of entertainment, always bustling and always creating new ways to have fun and play games. When you’re a tourist, it can get confusing picking which places to go for your trip (especially if you’re an escape enthusiast and are trying to figure out the best escape rooms to play when visiting Toronto), which is where websites like Toronto’s Best Rated come in handy. If you’re visiting from out of town, and you’re looking for an activity to do, then here’s a list of the best escape rooms to play when visiting Toronto.

The Missing Will

The Missing Will is one of our more cinematic missions, and it makes this list because of the reactions that we receive when briefing groups into the game. At the beginning of your mission, you and your teammates will each choose among eight different characters with different abilities, and will assume that character for the duration of your mission. The escape room plays like you and your team are characters in a tabletop role-playing game, with both “main story” puzzles and “optional” puzzles (read: side quests). The variety of choices in this game is what makes it one of the best escape rooms to play when visiting Toronto, and we guarantee if you book this room you won’t be disappointed.

The Ark

Have you ever wanted to immerse yourself in a golden art deco city underneath the ocean waves? I mean literally immerse. In the Ark, you and your team are scientists heading on an expedition to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean to explore the source of a mysterious distress signal. What awaits you? An anthropological find of a city and people long extinct who were not so different from you and I. The Ark is a fun and immersive experience that starts in a bathysphere floating on the ocean and takes you down into the dark depths below. It is a mission rife with challenging puzzles and old-timey vibes, and is our least scary game–unless you have a fear of the ocean. One of our highest rated rooms, The Ark is absolutely one of the best escape rooms to play when visiting Toronto.

The Haunting of Noriko

Contrary to the Ark, the Haunting of Noriko is one of the scariest games we run here at Escape Games Canada. An oldy but a goody, it has stood the test of time and still fills regularly throughout the week with players and enthusiasts looking to take on the horrifying challenge. Set in Aohigakara Forest–better know as the Suicide Forest–in Osaka, Japan, you are tasked with putting to rest the vengeful spirit of a murdered young girl. Her violent spirit took bloody vengeance on her family, and now it is your job to explore the two-story haunted house escape room ryokan, find what she held dear, and restore it to a place of honour. The Haunting of Noriko is a wildly popular mission, terrifying and gory, and remains a fan favourite to this day. If you’re from out of town, maybe from the USA, and are a fan of horror, then this is the room for you.

While all seven missions at Escape Games Canada are amazing and entertaining in their own right, the Missing Will, the Ark, and the Haunting of Noriko are three rooms we hear nothing but good things about from people who are visiting Toronto. If you’re searching for fun activities to do while you’re in the city, then hopefully this list of the best escape rooms to play when visiting Toronto will encourage you to come try Escape Games Canada and see just what makes our facility so special.
